(Holy Thursday) Thursday, 28 March 2013 : Mass of the Lord’s Supper – Cena Domini, Holy Week (Psalm)

Psalm 115 : 12-13, 15-16bc, 17-18

How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the Name of the Lord.

It is painful to the Lord to see the death of His faithful. O Lord, I am Your servant, truly Your servant, You have freed me from my bonds.

I will offer You a thanksgiving sacrifice, I will call on the Name of the Lord. I will carry out my vows to the Lord in the presence of His people.

Wednesday, 27 March 2013 : Wednesday of Holy Week (Psalm)

Psalm 68 : 8-10, 21bcd-22, 31 and 33-34

Since I am held in contempt for Your sake, and shame has covered my face. I have become a stranger to my kindred, an alien to my mother’s sons. Zeal for Your house consumes me as fire and those who insult You insult me as well.

I looked for sympathy and there was none, for comforters and there was no one. They have me poison for food and vinegar to drink.

I will praise the Name of God in song; I will glorify Him with thanksgiving. Let the lowly witness this and be glad. You who seek God, may your hearts be revived. For the Lord hears the needy and does not despise those in captivity.

Monday, 11 March 2013 : 4th Week of Lent (Psalm)

Psalm 29 : 2 and 4, 5-6, 11-12a, 13b

I extol You, o Lord, for You have rescued me; my enemies will not gloat over me. O Lord, You have brought me up from the grave, You gave me life when I was going to the pit.

Sing to the Lord, O you His saints, give thanks and praise to His holy Name. For His anger lasts but a little while, and His kindness all through life. Weeping may tarry for the night, but rejoicing comes with the dawn.

Hear, o Lord, and have mercy on me; o Lord, be my protector. But now, You have turned my mourning into rejoicing.

O Lord my God, forever will I give You thanks.

10,000th View : Thanks be to God, and pray for me as always!

Tonight, as of midnight and the beginning of the Fourth Sunday of Lent, Laetare Sunday, 10 March 2013, my blog has been viewed 10,000 times. I thank all the visitors who had visited my humble blog, with all its imperfections and mistakes, and thank you for all your encouragement and prayers.

Do continue to pray for me, and pray too for the Cardinal-electors, who will soon go into the Sistine Chapel for the Conclave, and we hope that by next week, we will already have a new Pope, a new shepherd for our Church, that is God’s Church He built on Peter, the Rock, and the leader of the Apostles.

The Church is truly universal, isn’t it?

Sunday, 3 March 2013 : 3rd Sunday of Lent (Psalm) (First Scrutiny of Baptism)

Psalm 102 : 1-2, 3-4, 6-7, 8 and 11

Bless the Lord, my soul; all my being, bless His holy Name! Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all His kindness.

He forgives all your sins and heals all your sickness; He redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with love and compassion.

The Lord restores justice and secures the rights of the oppressed. He has made known His ways to Moses and His deeds to the people of Israel.

The Lord is gracious and merciful, abounding in love and slow to anger. As the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His love for those fearing Him.

(Alternative reading from Year A)

Psalm 94 : 1-2, 6-7, 8-9

Come, let us sing to the Lord, let us make a joyful sound to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Him giving thanks, with music and songs of praise.

Come and worship; let us bow down, kneel before the Lord, our Maker. He is our God, and we His people; the flock He leads and pastures. Would that today you heard His voice!

Do not be stubborn, as at Meribah, in the desert, on that day at Massah, when your ancestors challenged Me, and they put me to the test.

Tuesday, 26 February 2013 : 2nd Week of Lent (Psalm)

Psalm 49 : 8-9, 16bc-17, 21, 23

Not for your sacrifices do I reprove you, for your burnt offerings are ever before Me. I need no bull from your stalls, nor he-goat from your pens.

What right have you to mouth My laws, or to talk about My Covenant? If you hate My commands and cast My words behind you.

Because I was silent while you did these things. You thought I was like you. But now I rebuke you and make this charge against you.

Those who give with thanks offerings honor Me, but the one who walks blamelessly, I will show him the salvation of God.

Thursday, 21 February 2013 : 1st Week of Lent, Memorial of St. Peter Damian, Bishop and Doctor (Psalm)

Psalm 137 : 1-2a, 2bc-3, 7c-8

I thank You, o Lord, with all my heart, for You have heard the word of my lips. I sing Your praise in the presence of the gods. I bow down towards Your holy temple and give thanks to Your Name.

For Your love and faithfulness, for Your word which exceeds everything. You answered me when I called, You restored my soul and made me strong.

With Your right hand You deliver me. How the Lord cares for me! Your kindness, o Lord, endures forever. Forsake not the work of Your hands.
